Contribute
There are a couple ways you can contribute information. Personal Experience Article: I thought it would be great to have personal articles from artists about your experiences in artist alley and about yourself as an artist. This is open to veterans and first timers. We want to hear your stories about AA drama, experiences to learn from, advice, recommendations, your successes and failures. Group Advice Articles: Group Advice Articles share a variety of opinions and advice from different artists, about what works for them. These articles are meant to give you multiple options you can try so you can decide what works best for you and your situation. On the Group Advice Page I will post a question, requesting information about a specific topic. Tutorials: Do you have something you would like to share? Maybe you want to show how to do a certain type of art, or how to use a certain type of tool, or maybe you just want to show the step by step of one of your pieces of art. Tutorials may be submitted as a Youtube video, or as a combination of pictures and text. Please read the Submission Guidelines on the Submit a Tutorial Page. For Reviews of Products and Services
If you have a product or service you would like me to review, you can send me a sample of your product, information about your product or service, and a link to your online presence. Please check out the Request a Review page for more information. |
About the Author
My name is Mallory Thompson. I kind of like art.... wink. Ok, you got me. You've got that same flame burning in you that makes it hard to get a good nights sleep because you can't seem to put down that pencil, or those markers, or that sewing machine. Actually you probably shouldn't be lifting your sewing machine. True Facts about me: I have cats. I like them. I named them after desserts. Carmello is a Calico, and Custard is the color of custard. I am the youngest of 5 sisters. I have 4 adorable nieces and 6 delightful nephews. I'm pursuing a career in children's and young adult librarianship. I'm going to be the best librarian ever! E-V-E-R! I have visited 8 countries outside the US. My favorite place to travel was Hong Kong. They have exceptional public transportation, trees that have roots hanging from their branches because the humidity is so high, and waterfalls and beaches far from the city skyscrapers. This is a link to my personal blog if you are curious. Art Experience: Anyone can be an artist, but to be successful at selling your work you need to learn your craft, work hard, and take advantage of every opportunity. I have a compulsion, to learn new tools and techniques all the time. I swear I pick up a new art form or two each year. Artist Alley Experience: I have been on both sides of the table, as a consumer of art and as an artist . I have shared tables and had tables all to myself. I have taught art panels. I have also worked conventions as a volunteer, seeing the artist alley from a new perspective. While I do have a variety of experience, and my experiences contribute to the flavor of these articles I work hard to research and provide accurate information. Writing Experience: I have written several articles on Queen of Limes prior to creating Conquer Artist Alley, that provided information and research on companies artists could use to merchandise their artwork, back when it was a well kept secret. I have also written articles for Japan Powered. I also produced and edited the online art magazine, Snow Palette, which has been in retirement since 2009. |
